The New England chapter of the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects brings together engineers, architects and technology professionals of Bangladeshi origin living across the six New England states. The chapter was founded on 14 June 1998.
Our mission
We exist to support one another professionally and to serve the wider community. In practice that means three things: helping members grow in their careers, encouraging the next generation into engineering and the sciences, and staying connected as a community far from where many of us began.
What we do
- Technical seminars and professional development — talks and workshops on practice, technology and licensure.
- Science Fair and Math Olympiad — an annual event where students present their own research, with volunteer judges drawn from the chapter.
- Student mentorship — connecting university students with practising engineers and architects.
- Community gatherings — the annual summer picnic and seasonal events that bring families together.
Part of a national association
AABEA New England is one of several regional chapters of the American Association of Bangladeshi Engineers and Architects, a national body with chapters across the United States. Members are part of the wider association and are welcome at national events, including the biennial convention.
Who we serve
The chapter serves Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Membership is open to engineers, architects and technology professionals of Bangladeshi origin, and to others who support the chapter’s mission — see Membership for details.
