Nasreen Awal earned her degree in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1989. She has since spent over 25 years as a structural engineer at Thornton Tomasetti, Inc.
As a founding member of the New England chapter of AABEA, Nasreen has been actively involved with the organization since its inception on June 14, 1998. During her 26-year tenure, she served as volunteer and held several executive leadership positions.
Nasreen is passionate about engaging primary and secondary school students in STEM. Through AABEA-NE she has organized STEM events and provided mathematics instruction to fourth and fifth graders. She is also dedicated to environmental sustainability, serving as Green Champion within her office to lead employee wellness and environmental initiatives.
